Spiritual Growth

January 21, 2018 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Fresh Pond Meeting
5 Cadbury Rd
Cambridge MA

We join together monthly to learn about Quaker history, spirituality, practices, and other subjects that build the life of our community.  Specific speakers and themes will be announced here.

See below for February’s topic!

Dear Friends,

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice: they shall have their fill. —Matthew 5:6

To live a just life in this world is to identify with the longings and hungers of the poor, the meek, and those who weep. This identification and solidarity is in itself a profound form of social justice.  Richard Rohr

Please join us for a creative session, in the form of a mini-retreat, on Third Sunday, February 18, from 11:30 to 1:30.  All ages are welcome!

Cathryn Oliva-Simmons and I invite you to an alternative, hands-on approach to our Fresh Pond Meeting conversation, threshing, and discernment in seeking racial and social justice together.  In  particular, what our goals and objectives—what is our vision?

If you need us to arrange childcare, please let us know in advance, if at all possible.

We need your contributions of magazines, photos (could be from calendars), and other collage material.  If you can bring them to meeting this Sunday, February 11, all the better!  We will also be happy to accept them on the 18th.  Unused materials will be recycled, unless you indicate you want them returned.

We envision rearranging our meeting space immediately after the rise of meeting on the 18th.  We will set up tables/chairs, a tapestry form on the stage, as well as a circle of chairs on the end of the room near the kitchen for the introduction and closing worship sharing time.

If you can help with set up and take down, that will be instrumental in allowing us to begin on time and end on time, leaving Cambridge Friends School in good order.

Beckey and Cathryn
